Dezember 1983 stellte March den neuen Formel 2 f\u00fcr die Saison 1984 vor, mit der Hoffnung, mittels dieses Wagens den zuvor an RaltHonda verlorenen Europameistertitel zur\u00fcckzugewinnen. Der von Ralph Bellamy konstruierte Rennwagen verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber ein einteiliges Aluminium Honeycomb Monocoque mit aus Kohlefaser gefertigem Oberteil, was in einer deutlichen Verbesserung der Steifigkeit<br \/>und dadurch auch Sicherheit gegen\u00fcber dem Vorjahresmodell resultiert. Durch<br \/>die Erkenntnisse die im Windkanal des Imperial College in London gewonnen<br \/>werden konnten, wurden weitere Details optimiert, wie beispielsweise das nach<br \/>innen geschwungene Ende der Seitenk\u00e4sten. Insgesamt ist der March 842 sehr aufger\u00e4umt, ein Rennwagen \u00abaus einem Guss\u00bb. Gem\u00e4ss der englischen Fachzeitschrift Autosport repr\u00e4sentierte der 842 zu diesem Zeitpunkt das fortschrittlichste Formel 2 Auto und gilt auch heute noch als bester March F2<br \/>Wing-Car.<\/p><h3>Technische Daten<\/h3><p>Hubraum: 1998 cm3<br \/>Leistung: 310 PS bei 9800\/min<br \/>max.
