Fiat 500 C Topolino

New addition to the autobau world of experience

The Fiat 500 came onto the market in 1936. It was characterized by simplicity, optimized use of space and efficiency. Its price (1938: CHF 2,550) was no higher than that of a good motorcycle with sidecar. Despite the compact exterior dimensions (L: 3.21m, W: 1.27m), the passengers enjoyed comfortable space and two well-shaped seats. The rear seats could be used for luggage or two children. In 1948, the revised Fiat 500 was presented as the 500B and was replaced as early as 1949 by the 500C model, now with a heater as standard. For some time, the 500C was the last Fiat with the classic front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. After switching on the ignition, the engine is started by pulling a button with the key.
